I think it comes down to what did the stylist and client agree on. Having âunrealistic expectationsâ is moot if you tell the stylist what you want, and they say OK. If the stylist said they could do what she wanted, which this client seems clear about what she wants, and then the stylist is not able to deliver, then I really donât see why they should pay the full price. It might be a difficult lesson for the stylist to learn that maybe they shouldnât take on those requests or take some classes on getting those skills. Because of the cost of hair these days I learned how to cut and highlight my own hair and have been over the last few years. I learned a lot from you Kristi!! If I lived in your area I would go to you but since Iâm in Honolulu I would have to pay $700 for weak highlights and a cut. No tanks đAloha

I have been to 3 or 4 hairdressers in my years of having my hair colored starting at age 37. I have left many times not happy with the service, therefore leading me to learn how to do my own base color and highlights myself the past 16 years. The reason being, you're reluctant to let the hairdresser know you are not happy with your hair. The very few times I did speak up, they are always defensive! I am much happier now doing my own. I don't have to worry if I'm going to have a botched job. $400 already spent! She is no doubt concerned that it will never get to where she wants it. No disrespect for the hard work many hairdressers put into their clients, but to me these prices come as a sticker shock compared to what it cost 16 years ago. Kristi, I watch a lot of your videos and I think you are top of the list as one of the best hairdressers I have seen here on YouTube!

Sounds like the client had unrealistic expectations, to be a silvery colour in a specific time frame. Things happen and we cant always predict how the hair is going to lift.
