Because nature knows better than us!
Nature’s wisdom is NOT “traditional wisdom” or “grandma’s wisdom” which made us believe mangoes are heating!

Once and for all let me clear this up...
Mangoes are NOT heating... It’s a cooling fruit. It is Pitta and Vata subsiding. But if you are overweight, with Kapha issues, go easy on mangoes.

If you are a Pitta prakriti person who has heat in the body, sour fruits in general (except amla) may not be great for you. So the trick is eating it when fully ripe, sweet & juicy with no sourness. It has a sweet Vipaka (post digestive taste) which makes it Pitta subsiding after digestion.

Not all traditional wisdom is Ayurvedic wisdom (nature’s wisdom). This is because a lot of our grandma’s wisdom are “influenced wisdom” due to British colonialism of India, etc.

And yes, you don’t have to dip mangoes in water to reduce their heat. It’s not going to do anything. It’s a big myth.

Come on… It’s mango season!
Who doesn’t love mangoes? Enjoy your mangoes without a speck of guilt this summer!

Are you a mango person too?
