Doctor, I’m 17 years old and I’ve experienced significant hair loss. I discovered that it was due to nutritional deficiencies because my vitamin D level is only 10, while other vitamins are normal; however, my vitamin B12 level is nearly adequate and my homocysteine is slightly high. My scalp is visibly thinning, and I’ve lost a lot of hair on the sides of my head. I’m working on improving my vitamin levels. I have a question: if I start using minoxidil and my hair regrows, will stopping the treatment lead to hair shedding in the future? I believe my hair loss is related to nutrition rather than DHT.
