Thanks for your videos and appreciation of Elliott - I’ve studied his songs and playing for years - he did everything at the highest level - lyrics as well - extraordinary- random top of the head - ‘here it is, the revenge of the tune - you’re no good you’re no good you’re no good ‘ wow !!
And the guitar playing - come on - I’ve been playing his songs for twenty years - you need to pay attention the whole time while simultaneously being super relaxed to get his sublime slightly slow tempo and timing - and chord changes that can suddenly go in a sideways and beautiful direction.
Love the challenge !
Elliott is / was a true master. RIP Elliott -
Good videos by the way

Preach on brother! One of my all-time favourite artist, he is indeed such an underrated guitarist. I even find Johnny Marr's style less hard to imitate (even if there are some tough parts too). It's the blend of fingerpicking and strumming, all the while playing the bass line, all at once. Some parts I thought were obviously 2 guitar parts, I was gobsmacked to see him replicate them solo live. Pitseleh is a good example of "sounds easy" but not so easy to imitate actually.

Love his work, and his guitar work like you said, is highly underrated! I find his finger picking quite natural for me, the way he plays just randomly matches how I tend to play, I learned finger style mostly from playing Tallest Man On Earth songs, so maybe that’s why? Both have some pretty challenging fingerpicking… I seriously love both of those artists for just how simply amazing both their vocals and guitar playing are…

I totally agree! Elliott's style is very smooth and clean, but deceptively challenging. I thought some of it sounded easy and relatively simple, though upon picking up a guitar playing along, it was actually a bit difficult. Plus his recordings have this warmth to them that is hard to reproduce as well.
