All my family originates from SW , Virginia, SE , Kentucky, and East Tennessee. Yes , this is a southern highlands, blue ridge mountain accent! I should know, as my accent, the same as I am from southern Virginia, and it's mixed with South Carolina low country southern where I now make my home. Love the channel, SW Virginia is always near and dear to my heart β€οΈ!

People not from here don't realize different places in KY and WV have different accents, It can change slightly holler to holler even. People say weird things online π

Born and raised in Harlan Co. Graduated high school in 1965. went to NW Indiana to work in Steel Mill. I actually had to have a translator to commuicate To this day a lot of people have trouble with my Ky drawl. Of course I egg them on. Good to communicate with someone who speaks my language

Im in ohio bt born in Cali lived there til I was 4yo...I'm 53 now.
Im a military brat my daddy was in navy over 20yrs retired.
They lived in Norfolk VA before I was born.
My older sister was born there.
Also my momma was fullbld Irish from ireland had an accent! π
