I rewatched The Ten Commandments last night, and it renewed a sense of awe of God in me. I was so excited this morning to go to church to worship my God who split the Red Sea and led his people out with his mighty right arm!

I was traveling back to Mobile, AL from Vermont, and as I looked down below at the hundreds of THOUSANDS of houses, bldg, cars and vehicles, I pondered how 'God' could know about each and EVERY single person . . . .
Well, I had made plans for an immoral act when I returned to Mobile. Then a Christian friend called me and through the conversation, 'God' used her to let me know He absolutely KNEW the plans of my heart - plans I had not told ANYONE period.
So if He KNEW the secrets of my heart - - - just like the Scripture tells us He does - - - and I am no more important than any of the other 6 billion people on this Earth, I NOW know He KNOWS about EVERY LAST PERSON as well. So yes I am in awe of 'God".
I NOW know what David meant when David penned, "Who am I that 'God' is mindful of me?"

and no I did not follow through on my plans. He let me know I could either NOT follow through and REPENT OR He would never call me to repentance again.

I once set on a rock on a snow topped mountain peak, looking to another peak across a narrow valley. As I looked at the whites and grays and greens and browns before me underneath the blue, lightly clouded mid-day sky, I felt a grand sense of awe and beheld great beauty. Then a sudden grotesque feeling of dissatisfaction and sorrow grew within me as I long to see those mountains redeemed. I knew that I was looking at only a fallen remnant of what was once very good. I knew that I was looking at something that had been marred by sin and was no longer fully beautiful. I understood Romans 8:20-23.

On occasion when reading scripture that awe shines through. Makes me feel so small. I suppose it’s part of what John the Baptist had in mind when he said “He must increase, but I must decrease”

i think we need to have more meditation on Isaiah 6 and Psalm 19. my brother this was so good. We need more preachers like you, brother Keith . In my own life when I find the seed of doubt, I’m always humbled to realize how I can even pray, and still be granted his mercy to breathe another breath.. we we all need to be in awe of our God..
