As someone who has been living in Japan for a long time, this hits home.
Just fyi- this is an evil thing about divorce in Japan.
There is no shared custody if you get divorced and almost 100% the custody will land to their mother. If you don't have a good relationship w/ them and you have a kid tgt, mind you the wife will definitely wont let the child see you/you dont have any visitation rights.
Saddest part is that some of my friends had experienced this and this is so awful. They have not seen their children in years due to this :(
