Could've left the diamond on deck and finally completed that original jump. I guess there was still a few remaining clay wheels instead still to build. But I mean a woman's heart, pfft. C'mon! If you want to see a woman's heart spend a day in any divorce court. You'll see that same level of Rose's ambivalence regarding the sacrifices in life necessary to create wealth. What gets women on the Titanic of any age, then also puts them on a lifeboat when it all goes into the deep-end, THAT is what she's really throwing overboard.
