Two questions off topic because I don't have snow. But I am going to be getting some freezing temperatures this weekend.
Question 1. Do young leeks need protection from freezes?
Question #2. First year really growing strawberries, my plants are making berries, protect or no?

Blueberries, garlic, blumarang lilac, crocus bulbs, all need a certain amount of winter chill, to perform well.
I'M IN California 9b and have considered using a shaved ice machine to simulate snow for some plants.
I have put Galic bulbs in the refrigerator before planting ( with mixed results)
