When you empty the system oil need to be added it?

The Ford service manual for my 2011 calls for 8oz of total PAG oil for a system without auxiliary A/C.
It calls for 16oz with the auxiliary A/C.

My buddy has a 2010 ford E450 ecocline. Unit has 2 compressor on it one for the rear and one for the front. They removed the sticker for the refrigerant.
