This reminds me of the time I was playing Minish Cap and my best friend was over. In the beginning, when Zelda visits your house, Zelda's lullaby is playing while the blacksmith hammers away. My friend suddenly goes "hold up, I want to play the song in sync on my ocarina". He gets his ocarina, gets a serious look on his face, and he just starts playing a single note in sync with the blacksmith hammering. Took me a moment to understand what he was doing (I'm a little stupid), then he's like "how do you like the blacksmith's song?"
You playing the smoke alarm song has that same energy.
