I'm a woman but I also had a lot of guy friends and I'm married. I understand guys say some things without thinking and other times they say things with good intentions even if it makes the female feel "uncomfortable". Where I live for instance it's just common for people to refer to others as "honey" or "sweetheart". My husband does it, I do it, a lot of people do. He isn't sexually attracted to them, he isn't trying to be creepy, he isn't trying to be rude or make them uncomfortable, it's just how he talks. The male friends I have most of them are married and they still refer to me as "sweetheart". It doesn't offend me, their wives or my husband because, again, they don't mean it disrespectful. I've heard guys tell some pretty raunchy jokes, again, I'm not offended because I know they're not telling them to be rude or sexual, they just think it's funny. Furthermore, I've pointed out to more than one woman that has been offended by something a man has said that if they found that man attractive they wouldn't have been as offendedif at all. I'm by no means saying a man should be able to get by with actually assaulting a woman or sexually harrassing one but I also don't think they should lose their job for an off color joke or a compliment.

Whenever I interact with a female coworker I go out of my way to sit nowhere near her, and I keep my eyes down on my laptop at all times. All it takes is one accusation true or not, bc most HR dept have a zero tolerance policy so it only takes an accusation and they’ll get rid of the guy to avoid any law suits from the female
