What is TREPAC?

The Texas REALTORS® Political Action Committee (TREPAC) is the largest grassroots political action committee in Texas, representing nearly 70,000 individuals with an average per-member contribution of $90. It raises and allocates funds to promote homeownership, protect real property rights, and increase political awareness. TREPAC supports candidates at all levels of government who understand the importance of a strong real estate market, regardless of political affiliation.

Key Accomplishments:

• Property Tax Reform (2023): Helped secure an $18 billion property tax relief package, raising the homestead exemption from $40,000 to $100,000 and lowering local school tax rates.

• Broadband Access Expansion: Supported initiatives to extend high-speed internet services, enhancing educational and work opportunities across Texas, particularly in rural areas.

• HOA Reform (2021): Advocated for increased transparency in HOA management, capping resale certificate fees, and streamlining dispute resolution processes.

• Flood Disclosure (2021): Ensured landlords must provide prospective tenants with a flood disclosure notice before leasing properties.

• Eminent Domain Reform: Improved fairness in cases where entities seek to acquire private property.
