Man, can you extend this topic because it's easy to understand the value matching but could you expand it with colour theory and mood?, would be sooooo cool!!! ty for your time!

Thank you! I've seen artists do these pops of color for years but whenever I tried them, they looked random. I would've never thought of the value aspect.

This is not always true, making sure to keep the same values does not guarantee that the colors will go well together. You should not rely on the gray scale 100% of the time, it can help guide us in our choices sometimes but in the end what will stand out the most in your drawings is the color. Even if you take a turquoise blue with a grayscale value that is almost the same as, say, the red in your character's outfit, your blue may still stand out even if it has the same value as the Red. Contrast is important in a drawing and the gray scale can be useful to help us add it but really the most important thing is the hue of the color.

One word: BET.

But in all seriousness, this is gonna help so much. I’ve grown extremely enthralled by bright, vibrant colors, and I’m definitely gonna be using this technique.

You can also add a setting to your brush to change the colour of every stroke a little bit. It saves so much time
And what I love to do is to make the transition between light and shadow to be a little bit unusual colour that fits the overall vibe of the artwork

also you can use this to incorporate environment colors + subsurface scattering
