Careful with the nasal spray. That type will definitely work for a bit, but extended use over 3 days will cause a buildup of immunity to the point where you will be dependent on it every couple hours. Use it only as an absolute last resort, as your congestion will be far worse when it wears off.

Please be careful putting Vicks on your shower floor. It’s mostly Vaseline (petroleum jelly) which will make the shower floor slippery as hell. Since it’s oily, water wouldn’t be able to rinse it away easily either, so make sure to either clean your shower afterwards or be aware that it may be slick for the next few showers or until you clean it.

I'm an elementary teacher and mom so I'm basically an expert at being sick and needing to be not sick because little kids can't take care of themselves. Afrin is only when absolutely necessary, and 3 days (6 doses) MAX, then wait at least 5 days before resuming. This was already mentioned, but it's just that important. Try pseudoephedrine. You have to get it from the pharmacist, but it's OTC. Nasal rinse like a mofo. Vicks only makes your nasal passages FEEL different; it doesn't actually help, but the steam does. The hot feet and cold face doesn't actually do anything. Save your energy for jumping to help loosen things up. Breathe right strips can help when congestion isn't too bad yet.
Hope everyone unwell feels better soon!!!

As someone in medical school, please please please stay away from Afrin unless a doctor tells you to use it. It can be very addictive, and your body will get very used to it to the point that your sinuses will be congested 24/7 unless you use a shit ton of Afrin. There are people who go through multiple bottles a week because they use it so much. Plus the detox is horrible.
Otherwise, the first two points are fine. You're better off with a Mucinex every 8 hours, and Tylenol if there's pain. You can also go to an urgent care location and get a steroid/antibiotic shot which will clear you up pretty quickly.
