Couldn't imagine the nightmares these actors had filming these war movies. Thank the lord most of these movies had more than one WW2 veteran so they could prop each other up when needed. RIP Charles and Lee

I had two Uncles that survived WWII in Pacific. One came home and went back to a good life with his family.
One came back a broken soul. He lived the next 40yrs in a bottle. Lost 2 different marriages and contact with his only child.
Eventually his life in car accident.
No, I never heard war stories from him, most of the time he wasn't really too coherent.
Lee had a good friend to help him out of the depths of his depression.
Both great actors R.I.P.
