I overhauled a 3.4 Tacoma engine that had decided to eat an intake valve.the guy bought the parts to overhaul the engine and not even 30 miles later the new oil pump went out and decimated the main bearings... did everything correctly and checked tolerances and everything,but poor quality parts fail easier than good quality ones do,so be careful on what you decide to scrape by on

Lol put a 3.4 in my 93 4runner and got 500 miles on the new swapped engine and the rod bearings started squeaking bad. So, I bought another donor and had to do the swap again. I feel this guys pain as if it were my own. New motor is in and so far, so good. Fingers crossed.

I feel for these guys. Probably would have been a better bet to just buy a better used one, but when you fall in love with a truck it’s hard to let it go lol. I’ve got a 1994 bronco with 459,900 miles on it, and I’ve pored a lot more into it then I should, but I just love the thing to much to scrap/sell it

Feels like my 2nd gen, had to replace a small 70 part on my transmission to shift out of gear then the head gasket blows.
