Iām the mother of a special needs teenager who would never seat on the dentist chair willingly, if it wasnāt for medication and a papoose board she would have never been able to get the extensive dental work she needed. Sometimes is hard for neurotypical kids to seat still at the dentist chair, now imagine how much more difficult and stressful is for a special needs child or adult.

Isnāt papoosing torturous? There was a case of a dentist named Howard Schneider who abused kids using it, and he even hit and cut kids. I was even papoosed as a kid and had a good amount of my baby teeth removed (even though I only had a single cavity), which gave me trauma.
Kids shouldnāt be afraid of the dentist, because they are here to keep their oral hygiene in check. It seems like back then, kids were more likely to be abused and hurt by dentist because of the more radical methods they used.

Papoose are still used in my dentist but they were torture they were like super hot and humid and like if you ever been in one as a kid you know itās torturing
