When I saw this movie in theaters as an 11 year old, I couldn't stop thinking about being one of those men facing the endless horde. It scared the absolute shit out of me. Must have been how Tolkien felt in WWI.

It is worth pointing out that the sword Narsil was an ancient Dwarf-made blade that was one of the few things that could cut through Sauron's flesh. It was heavily enchanted and very powerful.
