I would start with the base structures.
So adding walls and an actual ceiling to hide the ceiling structure and pipes could help. If possible or needed you could add openings or easily removable parts. If you use a material like bead board you could hide the cut lines very easily.
Adding some texture to the floor with tiles for example could be really helpful as well. I would also consider adding a base for the washer and dryer to get it off the floor and make it easier on your back when using it.

The only suggestion I have, is that if you must leave the pipes, ducting, etc. exposed then you can try an old 60's/70's trick of coloring them. I donno what you could cover them in, I've seen everything from what seemed to me colored Gauze/Muslim to just Spray Paint & other materials that I couldn't even fathom to Try Identifying. But it's an idea & putting a Bright White paint behind all the tubing/pipes, etc. Would really make the space brighter, perky & more happy than creepy dark, lurking; you know? 🤷🏼♀️‼️🤷🏼♀️ Hope this helped, LOVING the updates. I'm rooting 4 You. 😁🫂💜🩷😁

Lighting!!! Nothing says creepy basement and cats weird shadows like those bare hanging bulbs. You could do light colored wood paneling on the ceiling just under or around the duct/pipe work and fit some reflective recessed lights for a more even brightness ❤. It is a huge process! You are doing great 👍

Spend some time at the IKEA and any other specialty store that might give you good ideas for Storage and functional ideas for your laundry room. Like good spaces to put the laundry baskets in to hang up your clothes and to iron so that you aren’t tripping over things and you aren’t knocking over things. Good Storage in a laundry room is an amazing thing. I like form with function especially in rooms like kitchen and laundry rooms. I appreciate how you integrate the beauty of your rooms without just adding a lot of bric-a-brac-you’re building it into the room and the style of the house. I look forward to seeing the charm of your style in the laundry room along with great functional tools and equipment. (I might take laundry too seriously but if you ever have kids you’ll appreciate it). That’s when it gets real.

Just want to say: getting pedestals for my washer and dryer have been EVERYTHING. It saves your back, adds luxury to the space and even adds storage. I know they have good affordable options too not just from the manufacturer. Want to pass this on cause it seems like something small but it helps me soooo much ❤
