The Mary Celeste ghost ship has captivated the minds of many over the centuries. The most prominent thing to occurred is whatever caused the captain, his wife, their 2 year old daughter, and a crew of 10 sailors to go missing on the ship.
When Mary Celeste was found, it was in working condition, all the cargos were still there but everyone was missing.
Some believe that the alcohol leaked, causing a fume to build up. It would've caused an explosion if it is not aired out. Thus, one theory suggest that everyone got on board a lifeboat and tied the rope to the ship, trailing behind until it was safe to embark again. Which is way a piece of rope was found floating behind the ship.
If the lifeboat got separated from the Mary Celeste, it's likely that everyone on the lifeboat would eventually succumb to the elements and perish.
Some also believe that there was a violent incident on the ship because a pool of what looked like blood stain was found.
Sadly, we will never really know what happened to cause the disappearance of all 13 individuals on the Mary Celeste.

If the cargo was intact and the ship in working condition, wouldn’t that make an explosion unlikely to have occurred?
