Output of your modeler into the the return fx loop, and turn off the cab simulation

FRFR speaker. I use a line 6 Powercab 112+. Sounds glorious with my UA pedals.

Many put the output of the modeler into the FX return of their amp, which bypasses the preamp and just uses the power amp. While you kind of using two cabs, it isn't too big a deal. Many modelers let you turn off the cab portion, so then it works. You just have to make sure you like the physical cab you are using.

Get studio monitors for it, they'll be a worth investment in listening to your own stuff and other areas of audio work

Some amps actually have the 'AMP IN input' my fender hot rod deluxe iii does and I have been using it with my Helix for years Sounds better than any FRFR or even my Line 6 power Cab (to me at Least )

You can do anything you want. If it sounds good, do it. There are no rules.

ive ran my pod go out of my amp (which is a fender mustang 1) and lowered all the eq and gain knobs to 1 to get a clearer tone when i want to play without headphones. but id like to get a dedicated speaker of sorts for bedroom practicing or even to take with me to places for a floor monitor of sorts. does anyone have any good recommendations for a floor speaker thats not too expensive?

In fairness I had a friend who did exactly that. Only difference is that he did it intentionally - wanted that slightly odd sound

If your amp has an effects loop, you can use that to bypass the preamp and just use the cab. Not ideal but handy to know in a pinch.
