I used to work as a notary and one of my clients was an HOA. I had to notarize their warning notices. The stuff those people complained about was absolutely mind boggling. Definitely solidified my decision to NEVER live in an HOA.

It was my first rule for our agent when we bought a house: no HOA, and that's non-negotiable. I will paint my house whatever color I want, plant whatever flowers I want, and go crazy with the Halloween decorations every year if I want. I would NEVER own or even RENT a house in an HOA.

I am so happy to live in a neighborhood with no HOA, but an amazing neighborhood association full of artists. We're renters, but I love our neighborhood and don't understand why anyone would want an HOA.

I live where there’s no hoa and we all have custom built homes. Mine is forest green with a black roof white trim and grey stones on the bottom half. Our stone guy argued with me and said it won’t look good but I insisted. When it was done he said wow it does actually look good. 😂

I appreciate my HOA. All homes aren't cookie cutter in mine either. We actually have one pink home.
Everyone's yards are maintained and no junkiness going on. Its ultra quiet and neighborly here.
Our funds basically maintain the front quarter mile entryway, pool and tennis court. Otherwise, no one is riding around handing out citations.

When me and my fiancee were looking for homes, hoa was absolutely out of the question. We had a nightmare neighbor as it is at our last house, ill be damned if i pay to have the whole neighborhood harass me😂

Most of us have orange or pink houses... it's called brick, lol. It's so funny what we accept vs what we don't. There are tons of pink houses in the Caribbean! Live in what you love! You earned it!
