Then after some time has passed, maybe propose that the company give some options for how they give their end-of-year bonus.

Id mention it like a joke, because its not a gift - its payment for work done as a bonus - so the value of it is relevant. Also, the boss might have been duped, too.

"A caballo regalado no se le mira el diente". You do not return or exchange a present (unless it is someone close to you and you can be honest about it with them). Just politely thank for it and wear it on a few ocassions where it can be seen by the person who gave it to you (spread it in time). After a while, if it is that mortifying to wear, I would just donate it or give it to someone who does love it.

1) Send a Thank Your note. 2) Donate it or gift it to someone that doesn't care if it is a fake. 3) Double check with a different store, it is possibly the first one didn't want to do the work to exchange it.

They prob know it’s fake. It’s not like they swore it was real. Some ppl purposely buy knockoff and enjoy it. I think you should be gracious enough to enjoy your gift as even you didn’t realize it until told but now it makes all the difference to you.

Maybe complement your boss and see it ha/she says where they got it…..they may not know it’s a fake, is there a flaw anywhere, look closely, what did they point out to indicate it was a fake? If they paid full price you need to find out somehow so they know. Maybe you can somehow wiggle in a conversation about how you can never tell if these th8ngs are fake or real?.. No receipt? Otherwise I’d leave it alone. I’d feel terrible if they pad full price.
