Our health care system indeed, is awful- speaking as a provider. (As well as a patient and someone who was also taken advantage of after a critical illness and diagnosis); but….
We-or those of us who chose our profession because we genuinely want to care for others- unless you can go into private practice for ourselves which many simply cannot - are forced to operate by what the “Healthcare System oligarchs” (ie- those who profit $$$ by disparaging others) require… it’s so backwards, wrong and plain wrong; against everything healthcare and humanity should TRULY be about, it’s sickening!!!

A reason for murder-ABSOLUTELY NOT! However, at LEAST the individual who was murdered, was actually being investigated and was hopefully going to be held accountable.

But note, Btw- this situation doesn’t help at all. Instead of bringing to light the atrocities that these people and “organizations” are regularly committing- now won’t be prosecuted publicly so that maybe just maybe- others guilty of doing the same might be brought to justice.

The person who committed this crime didn’t do the world justice; but a major disservice; preventing this case and subject from being brought to light and beyond that; owns no right to blatantly commit murder!

This is not how we will ever be able to address the despicable acts that are all to frequent in the healthcare industry! I’m pretty sure anyone you ask has either experienced/been the victim of; destroying lives and so much more…. At the very minimum, we all know someone who has been negatively and unfairly abused and affected by our healthcare “systems”.


While yes, SOME providers are indeed a part of the problem; agreeing to receive kickbacks for prescribing, surgeries, recommended treatments and the like; there are just as many, if not more providers who are 100% sickened by it all… is NOT AT ALL WHY WE CHOSE THIS PROFESSION and are utterly disgusted by the behavior of others who are supposed to be the few we trust and have taken an oath to “first, do no harm,” but feel as though we should not and cannot abandoned our patients; because if we do that…. There’s a higher likelihood that we will be one less person not there to advocate for our fellow human beings! We hate it as much as the general public does… but we too understand as- these are the same folks who are administrators of our and our families healthcare.
As an aside- if something seems wrong. Inaccurate. Unfair. Not what is expected, please, SPEAK UP & don’t assume they know what’s best! Advocate for your rights and what you pay to be entitled to! Do NOT feel bad for raising your concerns boldly! If you have elderly family, friends, children- be their voice! Tell those who trust you to add you as a health care power of attorney (but you both must 100%, unquestionably, have complete trust in one another and discuss in detail your wants and needs-write it all out. Have it documented legally because God forbid something happens and you cannot speak for yourself; you know that you will have someone on YOUR SIDE, speaking up for you on your behalf)!! If we don’t have this in place and there’s no legal spouse or dependent who will make these decisions- they will do whatever it is that “they’re recommending”!! Knowing and seeing this- I created mine, and my parents along with them, in my early 20’s. Good thing I did- because my breast cancer diagnosis surprised me out of the blue when I was diagnosed with early onset breast cancer at 26!! You never know when you will need it! Or if you can, consider hiring a private case manager who you 100% trust and can comfortably discuss your wants and needs before anything happens- at LEAST- this way you are assured that you will have someone fighting for you no matter what it takes, instead of too little, too late. As much as this is NOT AND SHOULD NOT BE SOMETHING ANYONE SHOULD HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT, take all precautions and resources available now so there is no “too late”. We’ve got to completely overhaul our entire healthcare system and…. I’m sure we can all imagine how difficult if not nearly impossible, this will be… But we just have to. Unfortunately. It should go without saying! I could say so much more but it’s so over complex, I’d write a novel!

There are many of us, along with most of society, who know that these people make money by keeping people ill. That there’s whispers of diseases and illnesses that there have long been cures for- but curing people doesn’t make them the almighty dollar; that in so many organizations and people - would otherwise have no business being involved in but for greed; not genuine compassion, concern and love for humanity (the way it should have always been)!!
All it did was bring the wrong kind of attention to the situation (in many cases) and the result- no longer will any potential wrongdoing be reported upon, publicized or “out there,” so that as so many other health care organizations are guilty of doing- be blown the whistle on. Sad situation all the way around!
