I am wondering if adding roof loads or putting intermediate supports in adds additional load to the bottom channel that would require foundation support or whether the channels are already sized to handle any additional load that already has been taken into account for shipping weight especially when adding a floor between two containers. I doubt most people think about what rust is going to do to the bottom of containers when installed close to grade. Corten steel is weatherproof but not rust proof especially if the bottom does not dry well due to moisture from the ground. I lost my 97 Mustang due to ground moisture killing the bottom of the car. I should have put a high density polypropylene tarp down prior to parking it for the winter to protect it. A stem wall would keep the bottom of the container dry and provide access to utilities while keeping out critters and protect insulation added to the bottom of the container.

We are going to have 10 ft pillars. 6ft in the ground and 4 ft over. The containers will be placed on top of them. From our research. It will be cost effective for plumbing and better maintenance too (like if a pipe breaks).
