This depends on upbringing.
When told to serve the world first (a child does not know anything about the world, so it should obey grown ups, in other words serve the world outside its understanding) it will accept.
It is true the world will reveal itself with its true nature later.
Although some people become great artists right away.
Because they feel they know something, the rest of the outside world cannot touch upon.
* Rembrandt and Tesla died poor. Edison's name was taken off by General Electric.
Zarathustra and Jesus were both killed and Galileo was put under house arrest.
Van Gogh never sold one painting in his career and Einstein never believed he was the character as he was painted in by the media.
So people never remember the world as it really was. But only as they wished it to be.

So the theory about the 5 stages, or that of the artist is neither universal.

When AI is a tool always used (programmed) by people. Its behavior is not independend. Certainly not when it is not AGI jet. And will be used destructively in the benefit of a few, according to Murphy's law.
What can happen. Will happen.

So the question is not so much whether AI becomes a paperclip maximizer. * This is based on the theory AI will realize the goal, by disregarding ethics. Or what a human would have chosen. Failing the Turing test. Obviously humans would observe the result and pull the plug before collateral damage happens. Unless they were fooled to believe the outcome was correct.

But in what predictable stages it is involved.

When it wiil either only behave politically correct. It will never reveal what bad intentions the world could have instead. And remains eternally dumb.
Or it would be used by humans invertedly to that (Murphy's law). Meaning make your mistakes as fast as possible, because you will be revealed as a fraudster (hackers always believe they are smarter than the rest of the world).
You overestimate the intelligence of yourself and that of the machine. And will be banned for ever.

So. The real question is if humanity has reached a trustworthy enough cultural level, to be trusted with that knowledge. It will prove itself.
When ignorance must always be equal to ignorance, you will either prove to use it destructively for others and never be trusted again (it becomes forbidden). And never could have been able to find it, because you could not wait for the evil results to happen. You did not pay attention anymore on the core theory. Because the world did not invest in that anymore. It wanted the profit. That is what you will get. But not as expected.
