I am running the same setup for home defense except I went with Holosun SCS instead of the Defender. I may switch at some point to either the Holosun Comp or Trijicon SRO.

If it's just a range gun there's no reason to have a weapons light on it outside of a little extra weight in the front. I just bought a Metal Carry Comp though, buying another dot for it just not sure if I'll move one of my lights to it or buy another.

Well weight , snagging, harder to conceal more often useless unless it’s For home defense or being used in dark places. I’d rather have my cellphone light on while recording a potential dangerous situation where I’m expected to neutralize a threat .

Well. My day carry and night carry aren’t the same. My day carry p226 pro I don’t have my accessories on in an attempt to conceal it better. At night I use another one with red dot and light and open carry

Depends completely on the pistols purpose, you dont need a light for a hunting gun or range toy, self defense i of course agree but i own plenty of guns i would almost never grab in a self defense situation so their for they dont need lights

If you operate in personal self defense in any dark position with multiple actors you give away your exact position thus open yourself to attack by the other actors because it's hard to guarantee they are stupid enough to stand in a line waiting for you to give them light blindness.

I need that!!! I have the smith&wesson performance center shield with fiber optic sights and rmr ready with ported barrel 4" it came with a crimson trace red dot and oem cleaning kit! That's my edc one! I also have a smith&wesson governor as well!
