It has a very important structural role but also acts a semi-conductor moving electrical energy or Qi throughout the body.
Stretching is great but sometimes deeper fascial work is required to address adhesions especially after some sort of injury or trauma. I think of it like an elastic band with a knot tied in the middle - it doesn’t matter how much you stretch, you will never achieve full elasticity without fixing the knot!
Foam rolling and other myofascial tools are excellent for helping you release fascial adhesions but be patient! It takes time to unwind tension that you may have been holding for years.
