As someone who used to be a dancer (not for too long, mind you), I’d love for you to talk about how the shoes we would have to wear affect our feet. I briefly did ballet, tap and jazz as a child, but got back into dance as a teen in high school for musical theatre. But as someone who’s loved being bare foot more often than not since childhood, the shoes never agreed with me. I do have a wider step, but I’ll never sacrifice comfort for fashion, I need to wiggle and splay my piggies 😂

the coconut (i’m assuming fiber?) birkenstock-styled shoes would be so nice for hikes next spring.
i will say that i have a pair of vans from my sophomore year of high school (i graduated ‘22 from unc chapel hill) that i still wear. they’re not falling apart, but they’ve worn down to a point that i can comfortably dance pointe if i so choose without restraint. so to see a shoe that i can purchase that is already like that without 6 years of going through blisters and rashes on my ankles and heels is really awesome.

Love this idea. But I need leather shoes, I had an extreme car accident i had that crushed my pelvic bone, which healed back severely crooked. So I must have good shoes & then I need to add a lift to my left sole. I have arches that don't touch the ground & have broken both ankles. Therefore, leather shoes give my feet stronger support & help hold my feet in place. I've tried vegan & man made leather & they all fall apart or become flimsy. So if they make a small division for real leather? I'm there!! 😊
