I see evangelicals routinely apply this same "but he LOOOOOVES us" stuff to Trump at Trump rallies. Why do you like Donald Trump? "Because he looooves us and he looooooves America." It's so bizarre. I wish I knew enough about psychology to understand what's going on with them, other than just thinking it sure seems the person has been deprived of and is in desperate need for love.

It is true that God loves us, even though we are flawed. I am so thankful that he does. We do live with a daily choice, whether to follow Him and His laws or not. God has given us the choice through our free will. He has given us the option to love him or not to love him. He is the source of all morality, and anyone who makes an appeal to morality is thus acknowledging His existence, whether you love him back or not. So thank you for this clip, acknowledging and affirming God’s existence and his love for us, despite your intentions otherwise.
