Run a ratchet strap over the top of the gas can through the handle, attach to the bed hooks. Tighten it down a little and it's not going anywhere.

You've discovered the load lock. Neat. You've been able to buy these at any truck stop for the last bijillion years.

You can also use this thing called a 2 X 4. Your bedlliner has special shots already there for it.

It's a load lock they're not new by any means they have been used in trucking for decades.

I’ve never had a problem with a decent bungee cord for small items!

A Dollar Store shower curtain rod works well.

FYI, the propane bottle fits perfectly in a milk crate.

"Just like a ratchet strap". I'll just use my ratchet strap.

I have a different version of this and LOVE IT. Strong enough to keep large toolboxes in place

Keep heavy things like the propane bottle against the front of the bed, not the rear. In the event of an accident, there’s no space for it to turn into a fast moving projectile.

I have a 2X12 that I put in the board slot. I put boat trailer bunk board material on it so it doesn't rattle. It is now in my second truck. I also put eyehooks to use bungee cords to so the cans or other objects don't slide around.

See the molded slots that came in the sidewalls of the bed. It’s for a 2x4

I used a measured 2x4 that fits firmly into the back slots of my bedliner. When the tailgate is up, the gas cans stay secure in place.

Use A 2x4 or 2x6 cut to fit the slots in your truck bed. Costs you nothing but a board and lasts forever. Fits the slots perfectly. Just as they were designed to do.

Rubber mat works great!

Great tool but cheaper, compact and readily available solution - a truckers hitch. Problem is most people don’t know how to tie knots. Just a good length of paracord…

Load-lock. My grandpa was a truck driver, he always had them laying around. We used them all the time when I was a kid. Gotta be careful on the new trucks they will bend the bed out. F150 has slots you can stick a 2x6 across the bed. I find using those is much more convenient for small items.

2x4 or 2x6 or 2x8been around quite a bit longer. Little black spray paint and it disappears in the bed
