Oh my gosh Amanda! I did this as a fire building training activity with our American Heritage Girls troop and it was a huge hit. Girls from ages 6 to 17 made these and when we went on our fall Campout they got to practice lighting a fire using these fire pods and they worked beautifully and were so much fun! We did everything very safety conscious and tailored to their age and abilities but this was amazing. THANK YOU!!!🙏🏼 💕💕💕. Easiest way to start a fire for begin

A great idea! I use sawdust and paraffin wax in an egg carton. , then I wrap and twist wax paper around them. Works like a charm!! And it's quick work assembling!!! If I'm real ambitious I melt Vaseline and pour a little in each cell. Also I let them cool before I wrap them. They are so nice to have ready for campfires.

Dryer lint coated with wax and stuffed into straws then seal the ends are one of my favorites. I cut them in half, pull out a little bit and light it. Works great.

Does it work better dipping in the wax after? I’ve only done it where I pour the wax into each section on top of the lint and then fold it up when it’s dry.
