I really dont think exercise is necessary do you? I don't have a module on exercise in my online burnout recovery program. But, I do have a module on movement. What we really need first is mindful, intentional movement. Exercise can be great if its done in a well monitored way. But in the depths of burnout it can be a disaster. Movement, however, is amazing. A small amount of movement each day can make a massive difference to help recover from burnout. You need to find the amount and type of movement that is best for you. That's enough movement to make a change in your body, but not too much to fry your nervous system even more. Over the last 15 years I've coached many women through this shift. I’ve always loved the gym and still do, but it hasn’t always loved me back. Over the last few years I have had to learn to moderate my own exercise and movement. So now, instead of pushing through a workout because it’s gym day, I now listen to what my body actually needs. Sometimes that means a change of plans. This flexibility is something I have had to grow into. And thats a story for another post.
