I did not know this. I always asked for a warm blanket before going into surgery. I came out warm and comfortable with blanket’s on me .
My Anesthesiologist took very good care of my need for always being cold. 🧡🌟

You're great, Dr. K. You can make the most serious thing about surgery sound enjoyable. Sure, I'll take another round of that cooking phenomenon after the way Dr. K described it!

These things have me thinking about devices and surgery

A warm room feels like a delight particularly when you’re in hospital as sometimes nerves and cold temperatures just don’t work for me. However on the other hand I don’t want to feel like I’m being baked either 😂

I am always so hot. I asked if they could turn it off I was to warm and the nurse then informed me she could make it cooler.🙌

After my spine surgery, I woke up tangled in probably 10 blankets. All the flip flopping must have been a sight.😂

Hi Dr Kaveh 👋 my procedure went well today (RFA) and it's always cold going in to the surgery room! Luckily it's not an issue with me as I'm always just right when it comes temperature 😉 especially when it comes to being anesthetized 😊 Thanks for this tidbit of information! Hope you're having a great day today! Love ya!

When I woke up from one of my surgeries I was very cold, disoriented, lying on a what looked like a table, a thin sheet covering me, looking up at a very bright light, alone in the room. I wondered if I had passed and had gone to purgatory 😵‍💫

Well, I appreciate not waking up the extreme temperatures. Everybody in the OR gets to sweat because my blood pressure disapears under anesthesia if my body gets cold. Apparently, I'm part reptile and try to go into stasis.

I just had surgery and I woke up shivering and they brought me a warm blanket. They use one setting around here and it seems to be about 55 degrees.

Dr. Kaveh - just had surgery and like you, the Anesthesiologist called me the night before! I had never had that before. I told him about your YT channel and that you call your patients the night before as well.

I always wake up cold and end up with 4 or 5 blankets before I’m comfy. That may also have something to do with the weight of them on me too. Not sure the NHS has many of these machines in the recovery room - I’ve certainly never encountered one after any of my 15+ surgeries…

I observed a surgery once and the aneastiologist had the bear hugger ( warm air hugger) down his scrubs ..I looked at my teacher and asked what that was and she responded with " that's the bear hugger it's meant to keep the patient warm "

I would really appreciate that. If I had to have any surgery, as I'm already going through menopause.😂
