It could be the camera angle, but it actually looks like the substrate of the top of your curb is pitched out and not in if it's just the camera, then disregard it, but you should be putting in the solid surface, either 2 or 3 CM is your best choice, either granite or quartz. But putting your curb in first and tiling around it is better. It helps the water. Come down the wall and kick out instead of immediately going behind to the substrate. And the substrate of the top of the curb should be pitched in which makes it OK even if you do it that way, but you're helping it get down there quicker, so putting the curb in first , And tile around it is way better. And most showers like this one here. Have a very nice semi-frameless or frameless door which means there's going to be silicone and you do not have to tile outside of the shower 2 inches unless you're doing like Wayne's coat or something. The water will never see the outside half of the width of the curb.

Solid surface curbs, i think, give a better level surface for glass. Also better for preventing water issues.
