Well, many of you might guess Russia due to its enormous size spanning two different continents and boasting 11 time zones. However, it only comes in second place.
Another common guess could be the United States, considering its size and two non-contiguous states. But even with Alaska, Hawaii, and a few additional territories, it still comes in third place sharing the same number of time zones as Russia.
While a country's size often influences the number of time zones, there are a few exceptions. Like take China for example, even though it should encompass a total of 5 time zones; the country chose to adopt only one.
So which country actually has the most time zones?
Well, It’s France with a total of 12 time zones. But how can a country that small have so many?
You see, France has numerous overseas territories scattered across five continents. And each territory operates in its own time zone based on its geographic location.
