I was always told that if I didnā€™t go to college Iā€™d be digging dirt.

Ahh archeology! Go in thinking youā€™ll be Indiana Jones, working harder than everyone getting paid less than everyone all while eating up 90% of my budget and digging 1000 holes knowing damn well thereā€™s nothing there!

But hey sometimes it can be pretty cool. My CR team found a moonshiner camp with pre-historics under the camp. Pretty bad ass find.

I was today years old when I found out that archaeologists were not already using trowels to do excavation. I will gladly credit you with the invention, but I really thought this tool already existed.... Rather, I just assumed that it did, and that's what it looked like in my mind... But now that I think on it some more, I actually have no memory of actually seeing this tool before today. So if I were an archaeologist, I'd probably keep looking and asking about this thing without ever making one or accepting the fact that it doesn't even exist. So Bravo! Bravo!

Probably it didn't need inventing, people who used their tools a long time wore them down just had tools that worked right. Im not an archaeologist but I know my mom and grandmother both have trowels that look very similar to that just from use. I remember my grandma being sad when I was a kid and she had to get a new trowel, because the one we had used for years was as narrow as a butter knife and very thin, andI bent it

Aaaaannnnnddd.... Who the fuck cares?
Nobody cares about archaeology; unless a huge amazing discovery creates a paradigm shift in understanding...
