Monstrous, sinister, and intimidating, this quite singular specimen is a large Mosasaur skull of the Tylosaurus proriger variety.
Found in the North Texas region, out of an iconic locality well known to the fossil collecting community in the area, this represents a veritable "once-in-a-lifetime" find for legendary couple Don and Jane Fagerstrom, who spent decades hunting the North Sulphur River - one of the most well-known sites in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
The incomparable skull was found in November of 1991 and has been expertly repaired, restored, and prepared for display. Mounted on a custom, black metal armature affixed to a wooden base, and presented with a removable and clear rectangular acrylic top, the head of the "sea monster" measures 43 inches (109 cm) in length, making it quite a visual marvel of great paleontological significance.
