Are prophets and apostles of God in the body of Christ in operation today? How about the gifts of the Spirit? The answer is a resounding yes. However, there is a sect in Christianity called cessationists, which believe that they are not in operation today, that they cease to exist at the death of the last of the 12 apostles of Jesus in the first century, that they only existed for the purpose of establishing scriptural truth in the building of the early church. Hence, they deny that they are in operation today and they attribute any manifestation of these works and gifts to the work of Satan. This is blasphemy. This is the same sin that the Pharisees did, attributing the work of the Holy Spirit to the work of Satan, Matthew 12. Study 1 Corinthians 12 to 14 and you shall see the work of God. Do not be like them, shun evil, fear God, believe in His word and the power of the Holy Spirit and you shall be blessed.
