This is happening everywhere, unfortunately. We were looking at moving closer to family and do not qualify to purchase a house exactly like the one we already own, and cannot afford to literally double our mortgage for the same amount of space or less.

250K for a 3K square foot house? That's crazy. As a Canadian, prices haven't been that good for decades...

Who’s doing that…black rock, vanguard. By 2030 you will own nothing and be happy.

Tennessee is the exact same. I bought my house for $54,999. It is worth $230 too $250. They are paying up to $50,000 above market value, sight unseen. Worse, they are coming here, paying cash. The people from here have no way to buy houses and rent went from about 650 for a two bedroom to about 2,200 a month. I hate these people and what they've done to the local economy. The average pay in the area is between $15 and $18 dollars an hour. How do people compete? Jokes on these people though. They will price the people out of the area, and who will work at the places they shop or eat?

Lady, Texas is huge, the only "unaffordable" Texas housing market is in Houston, go to a small-ish town up north, houses are still between 250 - 300K.

If you bought a house before 2020 you're good. Prices and interest went up after unprecedented government spending.

If you're curious texas home suppy is at multi year high. It's more supply than demand. Give it time prices will fall.

This happened everywhere due to covid and corporations buying up houses. There just aren't enough houses available for sale so the prices skyrocketed. My home was appraised in 2022 at twice what it was appraised at in 2021.

Doesn't really matter where you go, it's gonna go up multiple hundred percentile up regardless.

It’s not about people moving to Texas what’s driving home prices up, it’s about Wall Street corporates buying houses in Texas and other states making everything not affordable anymore
