‘Let the smoke out’. Ah, AvE, your influence continues everywhere. JAMSI - if you guys did UK-type stuff and were 8,000 miles closer I’d be honoured to send you a bent head to surface 😂😂

AVE did an interesting video about the same type of speed variation on his lathe

It has never ceased to amaze me how great the capacity of the smoke reservoir of electrical components.

On a CNC, we wiggle the speed or feed knob if it starts chattering, works pretty well lmao

That's a handy bit of kit, an absolute lifesaver. It's normally pretty difficult to stop the chatter once it starts. Increasing the feedrate/pressure can often help, but can result in a poorer surface finish.

Lest we forget cutter tool mounting, material and geometry. Excellent video... also you reminded me of the first time I wired a triple phase motor into a single phase power source. The rescue-electrician said don't worry one day you'll look back and laugh at this. One day.....

Yeah that makes it easier. We do all kinds of stuff machining to get it out like put magnets on the tool to wrapping the part with rubber bands.

I might try that trick with my wood lathe. I get a type of chatter with certain woods.

You installed that electrical mystery yourself? No hammer? No blow torch? No help? GAWD! I’m so proud of you! ( he says IKR) 😂🤣

or place some heavy weight nearby the valve seat before freshening up the valve seat. Some use magnets and a rubber mat in between. Reducing the speed is always a good idea.
