I take them off when reading but usually put them back on when they are on the shelf, unless there’s something on the actual book cover that I like more then the art on the dust jacket, then I keep it off.

It's different for me. whenever I buy a book, the first thing I do remove the cover(jacket) and keep it somewhere so it won't get damage. Then carefree LY read my book.

I can't read books with dust jackets on but i usually just set them on the book shelf and put them back on when I finish reading lol
