Great tip! I stumbled on this naturally while doodling. A nice way to transition from sketch to final piece for the folds is to draw these triangles in an initial sketch layer, but then when inking on a layer above, only draw over parts of those triangles for a more natural result

Itβs also helpful to know about fabric. Lighter fabrics have more folds. Heavier fabrics like the houppelande dress will have less due to being made from doeskin wool. Linen will have folds everywhere.

It is funny how life works, I was thinking of a source to help me with drawing convincing folds from memory, and stop struggling with cloth. You explain things simple and easy to remember. No wonder you have hundreds of enrolled students in your online school. I remember not remembering much from being present in cloth figure drawing class.
