Don't forget about the worlds biggest cheese supply too! Most cheese corporations use it for storage due to being centralized and the caves remaining at cooling temperatures. The government used it as well before this, to house all their surpluss cheese during the 70s.
(Local Missourian here)
My Great Uncle worked in the mines before they officially stopped clearing them for resources. The enterance to subtropilis is seen easily by the highway. Giant door inside the side of the plateau.

I once had a Ford Maverick. Very fun car, but the Transmission was a 3 speed with third gear needing the car to Rev ridiculously high to shift into, and in cold weather the rear drums tended to freeze up (Temps would hit 5°f at Coldest). Fun car for around the town, but definitely not for Winter or Highway driving unless you wish to meet Henry Ford himself, and file a complaint

I work in the Springfield Underground, which is very similar to this just smaller. I’m actually on my lunch break right now. Let me tell you, it’s not as cool as you think it would be. I’ve worked down here for 6 years, and I miss seeing the sun during the day. I’m pretty pale, I have to take vitamins, there’s always rocks falling and occasionally they still blast down here to keep expanding. There’s 1.2Million square feet of caves down here. Probably 20ish warehouses, if I had to take a guess. It was really cool at first, I promise you, it loses its appeal pretty quickly.

There are many facilities like this around KC.
I used to have to do disaster recovery exercises in an office in a "cave" like these in KC.
Set up servers in another one in Lenexa at my next job.
Went on field trips to destinations built in them when I was a kid.
Went paintballing in one with our church youth group a couple years ago.
