They could have arrested Koresh any day he went jogging up the road or went into town. Atf needed the raid for budget (they even admitted it). Atf shot first. The atf ran out of ammunition and the davidians let them walk away. They took down the negotiation tapes because how bad it made them look. Now u can only find at max 40 minutes when there was hours worth they released.

Not saying I agree with what was going on at the compound, but the only reason all those people died was because of atf/fbi incompetence. Their mission was simply for optics, to improve their reputation after ruby ridge and all they did was prove exactly why they became so hated. No admission of wrongdoing for the children and innocent people dead to this day.

It wasn't a cult. Koresh was a pastor/gun dealer who was leading a church community. "Cult" was just a name used by the FBI, ATF, media etc to try and garner sympathy for their side. If you are going to label them as being in a cult, you might as well label every single church a cult. Might as well label every single college and school as well.
