Can anyone agree with me?

You see, it seems to me that Cane Toads are good for one thing. They are introduced to Australia to eat the cane beetle, but the cane beetle can crawl up a cane stalk and the cane toad can`t, so that was a bad idea and could have been prevented if the people who brought them here had looked at their feet. They are diggers, and can make a mess of a newly sowed carrot bed. The sad thing is, they are poisonous. Hundreds of tiny sweaty disgusting wart sacks on their bony backs! Anything that eats one will die. Goannas, carpet snakes, red belly black snakes. The only thing that is smart enough is the crow. It flips them over, and eats them from the belly. Gross I know, but nature is smart. At least crows…and Weedy. You see, to me…as I say, the journey for the cane toad after a feast of crippled bees is back to Earth via a quick tap on the head and laid to rest in a warm compost!

Nighttime in theweedygardern.com presents all sorts of interesting observations. One of them is watching cane toads catch the poor old bees which have been cast over the "plank" to end their fate as cane toad dinner.

It`s all in the cycle of life under this big sky up here on the hill.

I hope one day the endemic species in Australia learns to hunt these invasive toads. With human help that might get rid of them for good. Must be an pest to have them all around. I heard that (I think) dingos already learned to hunt them and only eat their insides while avoiding their toxic venom. Over time nature learns to balance even invasive species

There's a huge toad that comes to my garden each year. The last time I saw him was a year ago when I freed him from the bug netting over my cabbage patch. I was worried about him because we had snow and ice on the ground for 2 1/2 solid months this last winter, which is most unusual. I was wondering if I'd see him again, and he showed up 2 days ago. I imagine he's feasting on the swarm of moths going through our area currently.

Thank you for inspiring my/our visions for the future. As an apartment bound renter this content gives me a light at the end of the tunnel, a focus for what I’m working towards creating, and a respite from the rest of the algorithm’s offerings. Thanks for sharing this night time POV. ❀
