Nice. I scribe baseboard like this. It took a while to learn how to follow the floor contours while keeping my hand in a fixed position to get an accurate scribe, but persistance paid off and I can knock out trim on an uneven floor in a lot less time.

I will keep this in mind. Next time I need a rafter made of Spruce to contact a concrete pad and extend partially up a sloped surface.

what fancy jig would you need? a scrap piece of wood would work just fine. also looks like you landed about a inch past where you intended.

This is hilarious. The heel of the board touches just above the letter R. The he cut it and it lands between G and E. Yup, perfect fit.

My dad was that good. He would always hand scribe. Then pull out the square and tell me "This is how you can do it, now watch." All the explanation I would get while he showed how to do the same thing with a square... lol

So that’s why none of the corners are square. And none of the walls are plumb. 😊🙏

It doesn’t show the other end that’s probably floating so as long as the cut is straight it doesn’t matter at what angle he cuts it he can move it forward or back to make it sit flush.

A lot of people here who have no clue what they’re talking about. But think they know everything based on thinking about it for a second.
