In this video, I address one of the most frequent comments I receive: "Jump rope is bad for your knees." This common concern is something many people worry about when starting a jump rope routine, and it's important to clear up any misconceptions. I’ll dive deep into the impact of jump rope on your knees, discussing what actually causes knee pain, how to avoid injury, and why proper technique matters

I'm definitely living in a simulation. I bought my first jumprope of my entire 43 year life yesterday. Today this video is created, published, and served to my feed. Wild.

Poison is in the DOSE. Has jump rope ever hurt your knees?

Whenever I have pain in my knees I start doing deep squats, slowly, 5-10 times a day. It helps to recover.
I am 60, 27% body-fat, today will be my 4th jump-rope session, I can do already 50 jumps non-stop with 1Lb rope. Amazing!

In general when starting exercise after a long period off, making the first few weeks easy is like the best advice I never had. There is so much to be gained from letting yourself ease into it.

Great additional context here Josh. Obviously applies to more than just jump rope but we all need reminders from time to time

I started jumping on the first of this month after not jumping for about 4 or 5 months. Decided to challenge myself to 30 minutes for 30 days. It didn't hurt my knees but my arms, shins, abs and thighs hurt for more than a week before the pain mostly went away. I lost 6 pounds the first 2 weeks and I completed day 20 today. I'll weigh again and measure myself at the end of this challenge

This is why Running outside is also good; however, of you JUST run... ESPECIALLY if you do a lot of distance running and don't do leg strengthening exercises... That is the ONLY way that running is bad for your knees... This is a HUGE misconception... I've been consistent in my Martial Arts training for 16 years now... Which includes running 3-6 days a week... Which also includes some good hills too...I did actually injure my knees my Senior year in High School and had knee issues for years... Until I started doing more leg strength training... Haven't had ANY issues with my knees since...I even know people in their 60's-70's plus who run and do strength training and have NO issues with knees as well😊

My knee has gone through operations recently (two years). Can I expect jump roping to cure the pain and discomfort I feel?

Flossing can damage your gums if it's too hard, but with the right amount of pressure, flossing is really good for the gums 👍✅

I love the way people say "X is bad for you". When they've never done X before, and suddenly did a marathon equivalent workout in X and sustained injury.

Like sure, anything is bad for you if you do too much in one go. Even drinking water will kill you if you drink too much.

I just started jumproping and would incorporate into my daily routine. 200 reps per day would suffice for now since I am 160kg.

Approaching 9 months post ACL + LCL surgery. Could a gradual exercise of jump rope be beneficial? I believe it will be.

I bet this explains why my knees ache awfully after sprinting hard every once in a while ! Thanks! Smaller doses. The sneaky part is it feels great while I'm doing it... so I end up Over doing it.
