This is phenomenal. I've only ever seen this as a stationary act, where they'll already be seated when the act begins, since the base plate, staff, and seat plate are almost always one solid object. This guy working the set-up into his actual performance, as well as being able to disassemble the contraption, really sells it!

Now matter how many people explain this, it looks flawless and I appreciate the trick! I'm looking all over the place for something to glitch with the trick, but he's so smooth! That's the art of it all: being THAT smooth! We know people can't really levitate with one hand and a stick, but the way he does it....man! That's what's up!

even after reading the comments I can't see the angle for the fulcrum ... beautiful costume / outfit ... i did take Mime and Advance Theater at UCI and I can see his presentation is SUPERB (not that I'm an expert however mastery of the basics lends credence to the difficult illusions and the basics are spot on). I'm amazed. Thumbs up. BRAVO !

Got it. The pole goes into a frame in the carpet and the bamboo rod's top connects to another support that runs up his sleeve and around him under his loose clothes in his sleeve by the handle of the bamboo rod. You can just barely make out the shape of the support rod in the underside of his sleeve, because when he moves, his sleeve doesn't. If I had to guess, there's a whole loose suit because there's a seat of sorts in his uniform, so he's not just hanging by his ribcage. It's actually an amazing trick, and it bothers me that movies do this same thing with CGI and it's much less convincing than this is. I'm highly impressed.

The cool part of this trick is that when he walks with his golden "stick" he plants it into the base frame perfectly without hesitation. The female tube inthe base frame is short enough not to be noticed which means hes using a solid steel as opposed to aluminium. The left arm has a modular tube that fits into the "stick" (cane). He mascarades the hand with a tip jar from the right hand because the left hand is fixed to the body frame. He wears baggy clothes and walks semi bent to hide the seated frame. The levitation hangs on good welding and trusted frame structure. Well done...!
